Farmer dies in road accident, one injured

The deceased was identified as a farmer, Mohan, from Uthiramerur and injured is Murali (52) from Manalmedu in Uthiramerur. He is also a farmer.  Police said they were returning home around 3.30 pm when the accident happened. 

When they were nearing Thirupulivam, Mohan who was driving the bike, suddenly braked the vehicle on seeing a speed breaker. The private bus which was coming from the other side lost control and hit the two-wheeler. 

Mohan died on the spot. The driver and conductor of the bus managed to escape from the spot when passersby started to pelt stones at them. The Uthiramerur police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to the Chengalpattu government hospital and sent the body for postmortem examination. Police seized the bus and launched a search for the driver and the helper.
