Tell us about the experiment- where and for how long was it conducted?

We have installed a biogas plant at Kapaleeswarar temple. For the last one and a half years, the plant has been used to cook. We introduced a probiotic enzyme and the digester was fed with 40 kg of cow dung. There was 25 per cent increase in biogas generation and 50 per cent of cooking time was enhanced.

Are these enzymes meant only for biogas plants?

There are many companies coming up with these enzymes. Some of these companies have been using the enzymes for composting and waste water treatment. The slurry from the plant also has excellent nutritional value. It can be put to use by the farming community and can really enrich the soil with the nitrogen component.
