All the three men are history-sheeters and have many cases pending against them. A police van patrolling the area heard someone screaming for help from a car which was parked on the Trichy-Chennai National Highway on Wednesday night. When the patrol team went near the vehicle three men got down from the car and started running away. But the police managed to catch them after a brief chase.
The police later found a transgender woman inside the car. She had both hands and legs tied up with her own her saree. Police said that she was abducted by the gang.
The woman was sexually assaulted as well. Not only did they assault the woman, they also robbed her of all the money she had. Police said that the car that was seized was also a stolen one.
