Veteran actor passes away
Veteran theatre, TV and film actor R Neelakandan, popularly known as Neelu, passed away in Chennai due to age-related ailments on Thursday. He was 83.

Known for the humorous roles he has played in dozens of films and plays, the popular stage artiste is reported to have acted in over 5,000 plays and has worked with Cho Ramaswamy, Y G Mahendran, Crazy Mohan among others.
Neelu played memorable roles in films such as Nootrukku Nooru (1971), Muhammad Bin Tuglak (1971), Gowravam (1973), Avvai Shanmugi (1996), Suryavamsam (1997), Dheena (2001), Pammal K Sambandam (2002), Anniyan (2005) among others. He is survived by wife Shantha, sons Arjun and Bharath.
