According to those who witnessed the accident, G Mithrakanth (21), who rammed the two-wheeler with his sedan allegedly while driving under the influence of alcohol, was reportedly aggressive even after causing the accident and attacked those who came to secure him. “He tried to escape in the car, but the car got stuck after turning into a dead-end. Those who chased the car tried to secure him, but he argued with them that drunken driving is not unusual,” said Jothiswaroop, who witnessed the accident.
“He also threatened them of dire consequences, claiming that his father is a bigshot. A few minutes later, two of his friends reached there, who attacked auto drivers and food delivery men who were arguing with him,” Jothiswaroop added. The Adyar traffic investigation police said that Mithrakanth has been remanded in judicial custody.
