Man hacked to death over banner politics
A 27-year-old man was chased and hacked to death by an eight-member gang in busy Teynampet on Thursday. The deceased, Madhan, was in the business of renting out speakers.

Police said Madhan had erected a flex in the locality to wish his friend on his marriage. A few men in the area opposed the banner saying only political banners are allowed and Madhan agreed to remove the banner.Â
As the banner was not removed on Thursday, the gang went to his house and allegedly pelted stones at him. When he tried to escape, the gang chased Madhan and hacked him to death in SM Nagar in full public view.Â
On information, The Teynampet police rushed to the spot and sent his body for postmortem examination. Police have launched a hunt for the murderers Selvamani,Kumarasean, Seeman, Dheena, Ajith and Kumaravel. A case has been registered and an investigation is on.
