Man murdered by friends in Guduvanchery

The deceased R Jagan, who was working in a private firm at Andhra Pradesh was married to Roja and had a three-month-old baby. Roja was staying with Jagan’s parents at Nandhivaram near Guduvanchery. 

Jagan arrived in the city last Saturday. Following that, Jagan, along with his friend ‘Kutta’ Karthick (32), went to the house of one of Karthick’s friend to drink on Sunday.

Police sources said that Karthick is a history-sheeter and has many cases pending against him While they were consuming alcohol, Jagan and Karthick’s friend got into an argument. In the heat of the moment, Jagan slapped Karthick’s friend several times. On Monday around 10 pm, Karthick with four others came to Jagan house. On seeing Karthick, his father Raja assumed all of them were Jagan’s friends and told them that Jagan was in his room.

After 10 minutes, Raja and his daughter-in-law Roja who were watching TV heard Jagan screaming. Soon, both rushed to his room was shocked to see Jagan lying dead at a pool of blood and all five suspects were standing with sickles. They threatened to kill them too, if they shouted. Later, they fled the spot on three motorbikes.

After information, Guduvanchery police rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital. Police had registered a case and have launched a hunt for Karthick and four others.
