Drunk man attempts to rape woman in moving train, held
The incidents of women and children molestation are on the rise of late in the city and the latest incident has shocked working women who get home late in the night.

In a shocking incident, a drunk man attempted to rape a woman in an MRTS train late on Monday night and alert RPF personnel rescue her and secure the accused.
The victim who is 25-year-old from Vyasarpadi is said to be mentally challenged and is into picking rags from railway coaches for livelihood after her husband abandoned her. Her parents died a few years ago, added the police. The accused S Satyaraj (26) of Lakshmipuram in Velachery is said to be working as a security guard in a private firm.
The incident took place around 11.45 pm when the victim was asleep in the ladies coach of the Velachery-Chennai Beach MRTS train. Inebriated Satyaraj, who was in the same coach attempted to rape her when the train left from Chintadripet railway station. Hearing her cries for help, RPF constable K Shivaji who was in a general coach, got down at Park Town railway station and rescued the victim from Satyaraj. The victim who fell unconscious with bleeding lips and torn clothes was rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital for treatment in an 108 ambulance from where she was taken to Egmore Maternity Hospital. After treatment, she was sent to Kilpauk government mental hospital. The accused is being interrogated by RPF police.
