CCTV footage helps cops nab trio who looted spa
In a technology-aided operation, police nabbed three youths who robbed employees of a spa at knifepoint in Mambalam on Saturday night after the owner of the facility informed the police following a real time alert

The spa owner, Sunil Kumar, saw intruders entering Holistic Spa on Brindavan Street, West Mambalam, on the CCTV surveillance system linked to his mobile and tipped off the police. Â
The arrested have been identified as S Sidarth Raj, 24, from Pallavaram, J Shamsu Himmath, 23, from Vadapalani and K Sudakar from Kodambakkam. Police seized four cell phones, cash, a gold ring, a two wheeler and a knife from the trio. Â
According to police, the gang entered the spa at 8.30 pm and started threatening the women employees at knifepoint and snatched away Rs 18,500 cash, cell phones and the ring. Kumar immediately received an alert on his mobile, got suspicious and called up Ashok Nagar police station and spoke to Inspector Suryalingam.Â
A police team rushed to the spot and nabbed the gang before they could escape. The three were taken to the police station and interrogated and they confessed to looting the spa.
