Rs 1.87 lakh seized from Sriperumbudur RTO
In another raid, this time at Sriperumbudur Regional Transport Office, DVAC officials seized Rs 1.87 lakh unaccounted cash on Friday night.

Following complaints of rampant corruption at the RTO office, a team of officials led by ADSP M Balasubramanian raided the office and found two officials, Venkatesan and Kannan, in possession of unaccounted cash. After the investigation, the cash was confiscated. A departmental inquiry will be ordered in connection with the case, said sources.
Villupuram district registrar’s office searched
Similarly, DVAC officials also conducted searches at District Registrar’s Office in Villupuram on Friday and found Rs 92,630 in his possession.
Recently, a monthly review meeting of 11 sub-registrars of Villupuram district was held during which they reportedly complained that their superior Kumaresan demanded bribe
from them to move files. The information reached DVAC, following which the raid was planned and executed.
In the eight-hour-long search, the officials are said to have seized several documents as well.
