CSK fans queue up for refund, plan to make beeline to Pune
With all of Chennai Super Kings’ home fixtures this IPL season shifted to Pune in wake of protests on the Cauvery issue, thousands of fans in the city are lining up to get refunds for their tickets from the Chepauk stadium.

But, while there is an obvious sense of disappointment, most of have been expecting this outcome sooner or later – and have already made plans to travel across the country over the course of the season to support MS Dhoni and the boys.
“My friends and I have already applied for leave next month in my office, and here’s fingers crossed that CSK make it to the semis and finals – mark our words, India will be coloured yellow till the end of May! It is not the players’ fault; why should they be deprived of their epic fans? Pune is our new fortress.” said a super-fan Kumar Bala, an entrepreneur.
With the elections next year, those present at Chepauk on Tuesday are aware that they were lucky to witness CSK at home live - and the next opportunity could ensue a long wait.
Model and influencer Ayisha Abdur Rahman, who was pictured in the front row during the match a number of times, says that the fans lived up to their billing. “I could have been mistaken for a cheerleader the way I was dancing. We really showed the rest of the teams what CSK’s fandom is all about.”
