A CCTV footage collected by RPF from platform 5 at Tambaram station, showed an elderly woman slipping from the train and falling in to the space between the coach and the platform while trying to alight the moving Salem–Chennai Express (Train number 11064), which arrived around 3 am.

RPF head constable Predeep Kumar and a couple of passersby, who were on the platform then, noticed the woman slipping from the train. The footage shows the trio reacting instantly and together pull her on to the platform in a jiffy, even as the train kept moving slowly. As the passersby continue to head their way thereafter, the traumatised elderly women, alerted by another passerby on the platform, was seen holding the constable’s hand and thanking him profusely before walking away towards the foot over-bridge.
