Traffic diversion announced for DefExpo
In view of the defence expo scheduled from Wednesday to Saturday at Thiruvidanthai off ECR near Mahabalipuram, the police had planned to divert some traffic from ECR to OMR on all the four days.

Motorists going directly to Puducherry from Chennai via ECR are advised to take diversion at Akkarai check post and Kovalam junction to Old Mahabalipuram and proceed via Thiruporur and Poonjeri to reach their destination.Â
Those coming from Puducherry to Chennai can use GDST Road or Ponjeri and OMR to reach the city. Long distance buses plying between Chennai and Puducherry will not be allowed to use ECR stretch between Poonejri and Kovalam junction from 7 am to 7 pm and will have to use OMR to reach destination.Â
On Thursday from 7 am to 4 pm, town buses plying between Chennai and Mahabalipuram will take diversion via Kovalam junction – Kelambakkam and Poonjeri to reach the destination.Â
Police also said that arrangements are being done to make enough space for parking vehicles belonging to the public reaching the expo venue on Saturday.
