Man, woman commit suicide in reserve forest
Decomposed bodies of a man and a woman were found hanging from a tree in the reserve forest in Maraimalai Nagar on Sunday.

Police identified them as Vinayagamurthy (30) and Usha (26) of Uthiramerur and said they might have died at least a week ago.Â
A few men, who took their livestock for grazing in the forest sensed some foul smell in the area and initially thought some cattle must have died. However, when they reached a tree, they were shocked to see two bodies hanging from it. They immediately alerted the Maraimalai Nagar police, who rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent it to Chengalpattu GH for an autopsy. Two mobile phones were found in the area and police identified the deceased with the help of their sim cards. Both were married separately, said police, who suspect that they might have been in an illicit relationship. Police are investigating all the possible angles, including whether it was murder, said sources.
