Cop in viral video controversy meets with accident
The Neelankarai police station constable, who was in the news recently after being threatened by the daughter of a senior police officer at Palavakkam, suffered injuries when his vehicle was involved in an accident on GST Road near Guindy on Thursday.

Police sources said Karthikeyan, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Chromepet, was on his way to Marina beach, where he was posted on Thursday, ahead of the opposition-sponsored bandh.
“He claims that he heard a loud sound and then hit the median. He said he was not sure of what happened. He was taken to a private hospital where it was found that his fingers were broken,” police sources said.
Karthikeyan was in the news after he took the video of a senior officer’s daughter threatening him when he confronted occupants of a vehicle at Palavakkam for consuming alcohol.
The woman had complained that Karthikeyan was drunk and he took video despite her objections. Senior police officers denied rumours that he may get transferred.
