CMB: Advocates to boycott court
Even as the bandh sponsored by Opposition parties on Thursday against the Centre’s failure to form the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) disrupted public life, advocates part of the Madras High Court Advocates Association (MHAA) have resolved to boycott courts on Friday.

MHAA, president, G Mohana Krishnan in a statement on Thursday said the boycott call would cover all courts coming under the High Court as well as tribunals to condemn the failure of the Union Government in forming CMB.
Meanwhile, the executive committee of the Madras Bar Association (MBA), which met on Thursday passed a resolution calling on the Centre to abide by the Supreme Court order in forming CMB.
It said, “The executive committee of MBA insists that the Government of India implement the Supreme Court judgment in the case of the Cauvery Interstate Water Dispute on February 16, 2018 and comply with it without further delay.”
“It was also decided to communicate this resolution to the Prime Minister and Secretary, Water Resources Development, New Delhi,” the statement said.
