Spirit worth Rs 10 L seized, woman held

Based on a tip-off received by deputy superintendent of police Rajendran that illicit liquor was being sold in Karasangal village, the police rushed to the spot and raided an abandoned motor pump set shed near Karasangal Lake. They found 55 cans of spirit. 

The police team arrested Mala (40) from the place but the kingpin Vimalraj managed to give them the slip. A car was also seized from the location. The police were trying to ascertain the source of the spirit and its destination. 

The shed belonged to the government and the police were trying to find out how the culprits managed to use it.
