Anna University to provide image processing training to students
In a bid to enrich their knowledge in image processing and computer vision techniques, Anna University has planned to provide hands-on training for students and research scholars in these fields.
Chennai
The three-day training, which starts from May 5 is organised by Department of Engineering, Madras Institute of Technology campus in Anna University.Â
The training programme would cover the basics of computer vision, image descriptors, image classification and machine Learning algorithms, introduction to neural networks and convolutional neural networks.
University sources said that computer vision is the discipline of ‘teaching machines how to see’. The computer interprets images of a real scene to obtain information useful for tasks such as navigation, manipulation and recognition.Â
Research area of computer vision includes medical image analysis, object recognition, gesture analysis, tracking and scene understanding and modelling.Â
Machine Vision is the technology and method used to provide image-based automatic inspection, process control and robot guidance in industry. It is used in various industrial and medical applications.Â
