DTCP directs local bodies to regularise plots sold out
The Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has directed local bodies to regularise plots that were sold out.
Chennai
According to a circular, such plots should be located in a layout, which has also basic amenities like drinking water supply and electricity. The local bodies should also inspect site and prepare the layout framework that shows road pattern and other aspects like boundary dimensions and ownership.Â
The circular also instructed officials to forward the framework to the concerned officials for regularising plots.Â
Individual plots would be regularised if roads, street lights and other amenities were provided and maintained by local bodies, and the local body would adopt resolutions to take over the road in its favour and grant individual plot regularisation order for which applications were already received.Â
However, unsold plots would not be regularised until the owners apply for regularising with DTCP, the circular said.Â
According to builders, the DTCP should process pending applications first. However, officials said measures were underway to process them.
