The academy will strengthen its student strength to over 250 in 2018 from the existing 150 students by enrolling 100 plus students from South  India alone. YEA India runs a programme to transform students between ages 11 and 18 into real and confident entrepreneurs.

In the United States, the organisation has been operating successfully for the past 15 years, with more than 4,000 YEA students having launched over 3,000 real businesses. On the penetration into the southern market, Namita Thapar, CEO, YEA India said, “Entrepreneurship begins at 11 and it should become the centrepiece of contemporary  education”.

She said entrepreneurship is the capacity to not only start companies but also to think creatively and ambitiously. “We aspire to groom an entrepreneurial mind set which is the ability to identify and solve problems, a most critical skill”.

According to her, the academy encourages the students to develop business ideas, write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to a panel of investors, launch and run their own real companies and social movements.

YEA India is associated with successful industry personalities such as Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Harsh Mariwala, Mukesh Bansal, Kunal Shah to guide the students at every step of their young entrepreneurial journey. The 20-day course, with three-hour classes every Saturday, will be available in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai starting from June this year.
