Triplicane: After Raja's statement on Periyar, sacred thread of 10 cut by bike-borne men

Though the police is officially yet to confirm the incident as they are busy convincing the rationalist out fit to make its member who indulged in the act to surrender, sources said the incident happened around 7 am in Ice House police station limit and the those indulged in the act raised 'hail Periyar' slogans. 

The men whose sacred threads were cut were returning from temple bare chested when the incident happened. 

Police had already collected the CCTV footage from the neighborhood and also identified the people involved in the act. 

On Tuesday H Raja on his Facebook post threatened to destroy statues of Periyar in Tamil Nadu, like BJP did with the 2 statues of Lenin. 

Mean while H.Raja who deleted his FB post regarding Periyar Statue, on Wednesday claimed that it was done by the admin who was managing the page.

"Since I was travelling to Delhi, as soon as I landed, I instructed to remove the post and also I removed the admin. We have ideological differences with Periyar but we don't believe in desecration of statues. I don't approve the violent incidents that happened in both the sides. And also I have no intention of insulting anyone's feelings" he said.
