The deceased was identified as Jeevitha, wife of Rose, a resident of Pattabiram. Jeevitha worked as physician’s assistant at a private hospital in Vanagaram, while Rose, an MBA graduate, has been working as a HR professional at an IT firm in city.

On Saturday morning, Rose had dropped his wife at the hospital premises before he went to his workplace. “It looks like later she travelled to a railway station and got into a Beach – Tambaram EMU train. When the train crossed Saidapet at around 1.30 pm on Saturday, she jumped to Adyar river from the moving train,” railway police said.

When she failed to answer his repeated calls, the husband began panicking. That was when he received a call from the railway police personnel who had fished out her body from the river by then. They got Rose’s number from her bag and contacted him.

Quoting Rose, railway police said that the two had a serious argument over the guest list for the first birthday bash of their daughter, which fell on Monday. As there was an ongoing tussle between Rose and Jeevitha’s parents, he was against inviting them. Instead, he insisted, both of them should limit the guest list to only friends and office colleagues.

However, this was not acceptable to Jeevitha. “Both were fighting over the subject for some time. As both stuck to their stands, tension increased within the family. Though both were not talking to each other, on Saturday, Rose had dropped her at her work place,” police said. A probe by an RDO has been ordered into the death, as Rose and Jeevitha had gotten married only two years ago.

Police noted that Jeevitha’s parents have not lodged any written complaint against Rose till Monday evening.
