Security guard attempts to rape home-alone college girl in Adyar, held

S Nirbhavkumar Yadav (27) of Nalanda district in Bihar, was employed as a private security guard in Sai Darshan Apartments, Kasthuribai Nagar, Adyar. On Friday night he tried to break into an apartment after seeing that the lady who lived in the house had gone out. When he stepped into the house, he found that her college-going daughter was alone. Yadav attacked her and attempted to rape her. 

The girl’s mother had just returned after buying groceries. She heard her daughter’s cries for help and attempted to open the door but found that it was locked from inside. The woman alerted her neighbours who broke open the door and rescued the girl.  

The security guard tried to flee, but was chased, thrashed and handed over to the Adyar police. Residents of the apartment complex are still shaken up by the incident and have demanded an investigation into the private security agency who appointed the guard.
