LKG student falls into open septic tank inside school, dies

The victim is the elder son of Mohan, a mason and Sasikala, a homemaker. Though the police registered a case under IPC Section 304 (A) (causing death due to negligence), they are yet to make any arrests. 

Police said that Keertheswaran, along with three other boys, had gone to the rest room, nearly 25 metres away from their class, to relieve themselves after taking permission from the class teacher. 

“When Keertheswaran failed to return, the other boys told the teacher that he had slipped and fallen into the tank,” a cop said. By the time the teacher and other staff members rushed to the spot, the boy had already drowned. “The boy couldn’t be found inside the tank as it was pitch dark,” the cop added. 

The school management immediately informed the Fire and Rescue service squad which fished out the body later.
