Two phone snatchers held in Tiruvanmiyur

The incident happened at Kalakshetra Colony around 1.30 pm when the victim S Narayanan (42) was walking while talking over the phone. Two men on a two-wheeler followed him and snatched his phone from behind. 

On hearing Narayanan’s cries for help, police personnel who were on patrol duty at the spot, rushed to his rescue and caught the duo. The bike and the mobile phone were seized from them. The accused V Sathish (25) of Thoraipakkam and S Asif Ahmed (23) of Gerugambakkam, were remanded in judicial custody. 

Sathish is said to be a history-sheeter with a murder case pending against him in Chengalpattu. Meanwhile, Virugambakkam police have arrested a bi-cycle thief and recovered as many as 15 cycles from him. The accused, Siva, has been remanded in judicial custody.
