“She is able to walk, and the doctor has suggested that she walks regularly. They have said that the outer wounds will take around 15 days to recover and the overall recovery will take a couple of months. The office, where she works, has said that she can join whenever she feels fine,” says Jaisai, her brother-in-law. He further adds, “We are happy that she has recovered within 10 days and has been really strong.”

Lavanya, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, was assaulted and robbed by unidentified persons, while she was heading back home early on February 13. However, the attackers were arrested within three days. Lavanya, upon being discharged, thanked everyone for their support.

“Neither the police nor the people took the incident lightly because I belong to a different state. I thank both the Tamil Nadu and Andhra government for their support. Women working in IT, as well as other fields, should be careful and strong to face any crisis,” she said.
