Schoolgirl killed in accident

The deceased was identified as Jagadeeshwari, who was riding pillion. According to police, Jagadeeshwari, daughter of Arjunan, was a resident of Tiruvottiyur. She was studying in Class 9 at a private school in her locality. 

On Saturday, she and her friend Janani (16), were on their way to Ennore around 7.45 pm when the accident happened. 

When they were on Kathivakkam Road, their vehicle hit a lorry parked on the wrong side of the road. While Jagadeeshwari died on the spot, Janani has been admitted to the Stanley Hospital. Police have launched a hunt for the lorry driver.
