Kolathur heist: Nathuram lodged in Puzhal prison
C Nathuram (28), the main accused in Kolathur jewellery heist case, was produced in Egmore Magistrate court on Monday following which he was lodged in Puzhal prison, four days ahead of his police custody coming to an end.

After he was taken into police custody on January 31, he was taken to NSC Bose Road and Bengaluru. The police recovered about 2.5 kg gold which his gang had looted from a jewellery shop in Kolathur in November 16 last year and sold them before leaving for Rajasthan.Â
A few pawn shop owners too were picked up for interrogation based on Nathuram’s confession. Since the purpose of the remand is fulfilled with the recovery of the jewels, he was produced before the Magistrate much before the due date, said an official.
