    Juvenile held for mobile snatching

    Based on Dr J Ranjithsingh’s complaint that two persons on a bike snatched his mobile phone at GNT Road near Moolakadai on January 19.

    Madhavaram police have arrested two persons, including a juvenile for allegedly snatching the mobile phone of a doctor. Based on Dr J Ranjithsingh’s complaint that two persons on a bike snatched his mobile phone at GNT Road near Moolakadai on January 19, Madhavaram police registered a case and arrested V Sudhakar (22) of Vyasarpadi along with a juvenile offender.

    The juvenile was sent to an observation home. Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man was relieved of his mobile phone in Taramani on Saturday night. D Palpandian (29) of Tiruvanmiyur who works in a television channel was talking on the phone near NIFT on OMR, when two unidentified persons on bike attacked him with a knife. 

    Shocked Palpandian fell on the road and the duo escaped with his phone worth Rs 10,000. Taramani police are investigating.
