Enjoy low temperature for 2 more days, says weatherman
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) on Sunday predicted cooler nights in the city as winter conditions returned over most parts of Chennai and parts of Tamil Nadu.

According to the weathermen, temperatures have, in the past few days, dropped significantly in early mornings. The difference between early morning temperatures on Saturday and Sunday were quite stark, as compared to Saturday in the IMD Nungambakkam Automatic Weather station.
With similar conditions reported from the other IMD stations like Meenambakkam, Cuddalore and Puducherry across coastal Tamil Nadu, winter seems to have returned after a break. “The Chennai Airport recorded 19.2 degree Celsius on Sunday morning.
A few days ago, the city recorded 17.2 degree Celsius in Chennai Airport, which is well below normal,” said a weatherman in the RMC. But the phenomenon will last only for a couple of days before the mercury starts soaring again.
K Srikanth, a city-based weather blogger said that satellite imageries indicate a dip in night time minimum temperatures over large parts of Peninsular India. “With no major support anywhere close to the Indian coastline things are expected to be quiet and dry for the next week or so. This is likely to influence the strength of the Easterlies as well thereby influencing the night conditions,” he said.
