    Summer fellowship for non-IIT students

    Non- IIT students can now have an opportunity to pursue a two-month summer fellowship programme at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

    The programme designed by the premier technical institution is aimed at promoting high-quality academic research, which will put them on goal oriented mini projects, among students. 

    V Jagadeesh Kumar, Dean (Academic Courses), IIT Madras, said, “This an opportunity for students to work with leading researchers on problems in the field of technology. 

    Candidates with outstanding academic background that is with good ranks in university examinations will be offered a chance under this programme.” 

    Candidates pursuing third Year of BE /BTech/ BSc (Eng)/Integrated ME/ MTech Programme, First Year of ME / MTech / MSc / MA and MBA are eligible to apply. A stipend amount of Rs 6000 per month will be paid to those selected for the programme which will begin from May 16. 

    Applications need to be submitted before 5 pm on February 28. The applications for the programme should highlight academic performance and achievement including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/rank in mathematics Olympiad and any other awards/distinctions obtained. The programme is offered by different engineering departments of the institute, besides the departments of humanities & social science and management studies.
