“Doctors declared that she died of drug overdose and there were no suspicious injury marks on her,” said a police officer privy to the case. “It was not an addictive drug, but both the woman and her friend consumed more than the prescribed limit. While he was able to withstand its effects, she could not,” he said.
The post-mortem examination of Helea’s body was done on Wednesday evening after getting permission from the Embassy of Finland, New Delhi, and her parents were informed of her death.
The body is being prepared for air travel and will reach the airport around 2 am on Friday and be flown out at 5 am, claimed sources.
Meanwhile, Helea’s partner Aleksi Joel Santeri who was also under the influence of drugs, is being treated at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. “Aleksi J will be in police custody until the results are out,” said the official.
