Chennai
After videos of youngsters on bikes dragging police barricades went viral on social networking sites, the police had also formed four special teams looking for the youngsters. “If people have any information, they can SMS or WhatsApp on traffic helpline number 90031 30103,” said a senior police officer. Also, any complaints regarding violation of traffic can be sent to the number.
In the videos, pillion riders of motorbikes were seen dragging the police barricades in full view of the public and triggering sparks on the road. Police had already started looking for the identity of the youths by browsing the CCTV footage available on the roads.
The video showed the youth dragging the barricades, triggering sparks as their companions on other bikes cheered while leaving other motorists in a state of shock. After dragging the barricades for nearly 50 to 60 metres, they let them off it to fall near the pavement.
