Despite the pressing questions from the media persons on acting against Gurumurthy, Jayakumar maintained that Gurumurthy should make amends to his ways and refrain from using such derogatory remarks on the AIADMK functionaries.
The minister who gave lessons on linguistics to Gurumurthy and tore into the defence on justifying the use of the term ‘impotent’ being a permitted word in Australian Parliament.
“We also know how to mince words the way Gurumurthy could, and we know the connotations such usages can have. I think he should stop this silly game of word-play as there was no pun in it,” Jayakumar said.
Jayakumar assured to pursue a case if such volley of abuses from Gurumurthy recurred.
The reporters reminded the Minister about the case against the cartoonist who was put behind the bars on a purported defamatory illustration, and questioned why the state was going slow on Gurumurthy.
“It is our sheer magnanimity in advising Gurumurthy to observe restraint in future. If he desires our action, we would not hesitate to do it,” Jayakumar maintained.
As regards TTV Dinakaran’s membership to the Assembly, Jayakumar downplayed it is an insignificant development.
“The AIADMK government is on a firm ground and nothing can shake it. He might dream of accruing to power out of greed, and it would not materialise. The ruling AIADMK government would retain its place,” he said.
