Home alone woman robbed

A 56-year-old home alone woman, Kasutri was robbed by a man wearing a helmet, who entered into her apartment at Peravallur and escaped with the valuables, on Wednesday evening.

The victim suffered injuries as the robber pulled her earrings and later locked her up in the bedroom before he escaped. The incident happened around 5.45 pm when the man walked in as the woman had left the door opened.

The man barged inside the house and snatched her 6 sovereign chain and pulled her right side earring, police said.

He escaped after pushing her inside the bedroom and locked her the room.

Hearing screams, the neighbours rushed to rescue the woman.

Kasutri was rushed to the hospital immediately and was discharged after treatment. Based on this, a complaint was registered with the Peravallur police station and a team further probed the case.

On Thursday morning, police nabbed the suspect Rajesh (27), who was along with his friend at Retri. During investigation it was found that Rajesh, had two chain snatching cases registered against him.
