“The two men who were contacted by Dashwanth became friends with him when all three of them were in prison. Now, these men are also out, and these phone calls confirm that he has been in constant touch with his prison mates,” a police official said.
Police have also formed four special teams who are combing the state for him without any concrete lead till late on Sunday.
However, an official was confident that he would be nabbed by Monday.
The official said that the accused keeps switching his phone on and off, making it difficult for police to locate him.
According to sources, police tried to locate another number. Dashwanth last called, but the other number was also not reachable. Dashwanth’s father Sekar on Saturday filed a complaint with police that his son murdered his wife Sarala and escaped with jewels. Dashwanth was released on bail in September in connection with the rape-murder of a six yearold girl in February.
