Krishnagiri rape: Association plan stir against CB-CID report
Members of Tamil Nadu Association for Rights of all Types of Differently Abled & Caregivers and All India Democratic Women’s Association have planned to burn copies of a CB-CID report on Tuesday, which stated that an alleged gang rape of hearing impaired minor girl in 2014 in Krishnagiri was just an incident of public brawl.

The CB-CID filed its chargesheet recently against the victim and her mother before Krishnagiri judicial magistrate court booking them under the IPC section 160 (brawl in public place).
“An ordinary case of street brawl which can be termed as an affray as per the terminology of Indian Penal Code has been blown out of proportion by the complainant into a rape case and the local police who conducted investigation and have also buckled under extraneous pressure and filed chargesheet under section 376 of the IPC which has been correctly quashed by the Madras HC,” the CB-CID said in the charge sheet.
Father of the victim, in his original complaint alleged that her daughter was gangraped when she was returning after giving food to him on the evening of December 25, 2014 as a revenge to a quarrel between his family and the accused. All the four accused are his neighbour and a distant relative.
The police registered a case, six days after the incident, on the intervention of TARATDAC and AIDWA. Madras High Court judge PN Prakash, in September 2015, quashed the final report of the police and ordered a fresh investigation by the CB-CID.
