Schoolboy, 36-year-old electrocuted in two separate incidents in city
A schoolboy and a 36-year-old were electrocuted in two separate incidents in the city on Tuesday.

Police said, 10-year-old Mohammed Miraj was playing cricket with his friends outside his house at Mariamman Temple Street in Papanchathiram village near Poonamallee.Â
When Miraj along with Mohammed Waseem (11) was trying to retrieve a ball stuck on a used iron rod, which came in contact with the overhead electrical line resulting in his suffering a fatal shock. Waseem, who tried to pull him, also suffered a shock.Â
Waseem has been admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for treatment. Poonamallee police have registered a case.Â
In another incident, a 36-year-old man was electrocuted at his workplace in Tondiarpet. Vimalraj of Kasimedu, employed in an utensil-making firm at Kasimedu, tried to switch on one of the machines, when he suffered a shock due to a short-circuit. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared as brought dead. A case has been registered and further inquiry is on. Vimalraj is survived by his wife Ramani and two children.Â
