Anakaputhur doctor loses gold chain to trio

The victim, Dr Jamuna, who has her clinic and house in Gurusamy Nagar, was going for a walk in the locality around 10.45 pm, when the incident took place. 

It is said that three men on a two-wheeler stopped beside her in the guise of inquiring an address. As the rider, who was wearing a helmet started a conversation with her, two other men who had faces covered with kerchief tried to snatch her chain, but failed. 

A shocked Jamuna shouted for help, but the trio got down from the bike, punched her on face and pushed her down before fleeing the spot with the gold chain. 

It took a while for Jamuna to recover from the shock, after which she went to her clinic and got first-aid, added police sources. 

Based on her complaint on Wednesday, Sankar Nagar police have registered a case and have launched a hunt for the trio. Jamuna has told police that three snatchers appeared to be below 25 years.
