Group steals milk packets for pal abhishekam on gangster’s death anniversary
The concept of ‘pal abhishekam’ reached a new low as a gang stole milk packets on Sunday morning to pour the content on posters and cut-outs of a deceased history sheeter on his first death anniversary being observed at Vyasarpadi.

Police are probing the incident, after SA Ponnusamy, a shop owner in BV Colony and founder president of Tamil Nadu Milk Dealers Employees Welfare Association, alerted the police.
According to Ponnusamy, the gang of 10 people, came on bikes at 4.30 am and stole the milk crates from at least three points.
“Milk delivery vans usually keep the milk packets in crates in front of shops by 3.30 am to 4 am daily. Shop keepers open their shops later. The gang stole at least 100 litres of milk kept outside shops,” Ponnusamy told DT Next on Sunday.
Sources said that the associates of the deceased Palani, who was murdered on October 29 last year, had used the milk packets to spray milk on the posters and digital banners they had kept in and around Vyasarpadi. They also said to have poured the milk on the road.
“Police wanted me to name the suspects and give a written complaint. I am not sure about doing so because I am running a shop in the same locality. I have given them a vehicle number of a two-wheeler on which the gang members arrived,” Ponnusamy said.
A senior police official noted that the police are looking into the case based on the information provided by Ponnusamy. Palani, who was accused in at least two murders, was hacked to death by a bike borne gang near Vyasarpadi Jiva railway station last year. Police had arrested six persons in connection with the killing.
