Spurned lover slashes college girl’s face in Alandur
Dejected over spurned love, a 22-year-old man slashed a college girl’s face causing multiple cut wounds in Alandur on Sunday. While the girl is said to be out of danger, police have arrested the accused, who is identified as Rohithkumar.

After the preliminary inquiry, police said that the girl, who is in first-year of her college, was friendly with Rohithkumar since they were from the same street in Alandur-Maduvankarai, but the latter mistook it for love.
On Sunday evening, Rohithkumar, who is said to be unemployed, proposed to the girl, but she rejected it. Infuriated, the accused allegedly told her that she was being arrogant because of her looks and took out a blade he had hidden.
Before she realised what had happened, he slashed the girl’s face multiple times before fleeing the spot, said police.
Hearing her cries, passers-by rushed to her rescue and admitted her to a private hospital for treatment. Based on a complaint by the girl, Rohithkumar has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
