BJP gears up for RK Nagar by-poll; meeting to be held
The state BJP unit is gearing up to prepare itself for the RK Nagar by-election as the party held a central committee meeting in Karur. It will also hold an executive council meeting and subsequently the general council meeting in Karur.

Addressing the media at Chennai airport, state BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “We will discuss the present political scenario. Though such meetings are usually conducted every year, we will take some important decisions. The party is also keen on facing the RK Nagar by-poll.” She also noted that the EC should ensure that the RK Nagar by-election would be the last one, where money was distributed to the voters.
The EC should also enquire about the malpractices in the previous election and the ensuing by-election should be conducted in a fair and transparent manner. “Unlike Thirumangalam formula, the EC should properly monitor the electoral activities,” she stressed.
BJP’s national joint organising secretary BL Santhosh and national general secretary Muralidhar Rao will participate in the meeting.
