3 held for theft in cellphone showrooms
City police have arrested three persons including two juveniles in connection with burglary in two mobile phone showrooms in different parts of the city.

In the first incident, 19-year-old Abdul Kalam entered a shop located in Tiruvanmiyur on Wednesday night and escaped with 14 mobile phones. The shop owner J Dharma (33) opened the showroom on Thursday morning and was shocked to see it burgled. Based on his complaint, Tiruvanmiyur police intercepted Abdul on Friday and arrested him. Four phones were seized from him.Â
In another incident, Redhills police detained two juveniles for allegedly breaking open a mobile phone showroom in Sothupakkam. In the wee hours of Saturday, a resident living right opposite the shop woke up to a loud noise and found a few persons running away from the shop. He alerted the police control room after which police rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, they intercepted two persons at Red Hills bus stand and seized six cell phones from them.Â
