Class 8 student, youth drown in Palar river

Police said that P Paulraj, 13, a student of a panchayat union school in Aanur village, Thirukazhukundram, had gone to river Palar with five friends. However, the victim was not a good swimmer and he drowned in the river. 

The police later located the body stuck in one of the bushes by the river bank. The body was sent to Chengalpattu GH for post-mortem. 

In another incident at Keezh Palar, Tamil Amudhan, 22, from Thirukalimedu went to take bath in the river with his friends and he too got drowned, police said. He was working in a private firm.
