7 members of family survive suicide attempt

They were celebrating the birthday of a member on the terrace of a ladies hostel on IT highway.

A suicide note written in Telugu stated that they had decided to end their lives because everybody has to die one day or the other. 

“Instead of dying on different days we decided to die together,” the note added. Police said that all of them survived their suicide pact. They had consumed poison. 

Police identified the family members as Eakaiah, 65, a retired army man, his daughters Megha, 35, Chinnavenkamma, 32, his grandchildren, Yujitha, 10, Nikitha 8, Nagacheta, 8 and Sivapriya, 2. While Eakaiah had been admitted to Royapettah GH, others were taken to two private hospitals. Semmencherry police are probing into various angles of the case.
