Egmore Eye Hospital head suspended for taking bribe

The individual, in need of the certificate, had approached the hospital last month, but was instructed to meet the director. When he did, the director told him that he would be required to make a payment to procure the certificate. 

With not more than Rs 200 in hand, the person offered to pay the small amount, which the director allegedly accepted. 

However, someone took a video of the entire incident and the clip went viral, causing the medical fraternity to file a formal complaint against the doctor with health secretary J Radhakrishnan. “Based on evidences, a detailed enquiry was held and the doctor confessed,” he said.
