Metro services partially hit for nearly three hours
Metro rail services were partially affected for over three hours from 3 pm on Friday following a snag in the insulator near Arumbakkam Metro Station.
Chennai
The operations were restored on the line on a war footing nearly three hours later at 6.32 pm. Until that time only one line was functioning, said Chennai Metro officials.
“The Electrical Overhead traction failure had occurred between Koyambedu and Ashok Nagar, after which train services started running at a 15 minute interval instead of the previous 10 minute schedule. Of the two lines, only one had been affected, they said, adding that the other line was in full operation between Koyambedu and Ashok Nagar,” the officials added.
