The students were upset with the improper infrastructure facilities. “Two of the students staying in the hotel were diagnosed with dengue and many other students have been falling sick regularly because of the poor water quality. Moreover, we do not have a proper auditorium in the college. We want these basic demands that have been long pending,” says S Monish, a student of the college.

Their major concern also includes the lack of bus facilities in the college premises. “We have to go to MMC every day, but our hostel is almost 1.2 km away from the institution. We end up walking all the way and that consumes a lot of our time and energy. We want a bus facility that could make it easy for all the students and save our time,” he further adds.

After hearing the demands of the students, the management had agreed to meet them as soon as possible. “We were told that some of the students will be shifted to MMC hostel and a bus service will be arranged soon. We had organised similar protests earlier and we were assured that the management would do something about it. However, nothing has been done till now. This time, we have taken from them in writing and we will hold them accountable if the promises are not fulfilled,” says another student.
