Two men were rescued from drowning in the sea off Marina coast by police personnel, with the help of fishermen.
Chennai
Police said that the victims, Ramana (35) and Narendra (29) of Hyderabad, were siblings and had come to visit their sister, who is residing in the city. On Monday, Ramana and Narendra went to the Marina beach along with their family and friends around 4 pm and were swimming in the sea behind the Labour Statue.Â
Suddenly, a huge wave dragged them into the sea. Their family members approached policemen, Ramanan and Vinothkumar, who were on beach patrol, for help. The cops instantly swung into action along with some fishermen and pulled the duo back to the shore.Â
Both the men were rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital and Ramana was discharged after first-aid, while Narendra is still under treatment.
