Techie held for duping girlfriend of Rs 10 lakh

Ashok Nagar All-Women police have arrested a software engineer from Perambur for allegedly cheating his girlfriend of Rs 10 lakh. Police said that the accused, Mohan (29), who works in an IT firm in Bengaluru, and Chitra (name changed), also a software engineer of MGR Nagar, were in a relationship. Mohan had received money from Chitra on several occasions. In the recent past, he started avoiding Chitra and told her that he was not interested in getting married to her.

When Chitra demanded her money back, he allegedly denied taking any money from her. Dejected, Chitra filed a police complaint after which All-Women police conducted an inquiry and arrested Mohan, when he returned to Perambur.
